Appointments

Our current appointment system has some “book same day” and some that are booked for the following day. A selection of appointments are available to book online at 8am, from January 2025 some will be available to book at 8pm the night before. The rest of the appointments will be available to book by phone from 8.30am.

Online access is available to all patients, this can be used to book face to face GP appointments and order repeat medication. If you need any help with registering for this service please speak to a member of the admin team.

We have extended our telephone queuing system to accommodate more people at once, which may mean a longer wait time, but will reduce the need to continuously redial. It will also mean you know what number you are in the queue. If fully staffed we will be offering approximately 80-100 appointments PER DAY, every day.

Whilst longer GP appointments are preferable for both patient and doctor, in an effort to see as many patients as possible we are reluctantly having to reduce appointment times to ten minutes. This will mean patients will have their most pressing problem dealt with more promptly, and overall, more people can be seen. By shortening appointment times we will have to be strict in enforcing the “one problem per appointment” rule, and in not accepting repeat prescription requests during appointments.

We will still have a small number of routine telephone call appointments with a GP bookable 48 hours ahead if your problems will definitely not require any type of face to face appointment or examination. For example for a first sick line request. (Repeat sick lines can be requested in the usual way).

Please note once capacity has been reached our appointment booking line will be closed.

Please call 028 9124 0600 to book and cancel appointments.

All telephone calls are recorded.

Home Visits

Home visits may be arranged if a patient is unable to attend the surgery by phoning the surgery at 8.30am. Home visits are for patients who are too frail or too ill to get to the surgery.

Confidentiality

Our administrative team are bound by the same professional confidentiality as the clinical staff. They will ask about the nature of your problem. We understand that some issues are sensitive but by giving more information when booking your appointment, you allow the clinical team to triage most appropriately.
